Introduction to Digital Twin

Micro-credential

A digital twin is a virtual model of a physical object or system that spans its lifecycle and brings in learning and experiences from real world processes to update the digital twin model. Engineers and operators can view the digital twin to understand, in real time, how the asset or system is performing in the real world.

What you will learn

Learners will gain knowledge and skills in how a digital twin can support business decision-making in an increasingly connected and data-driven world.

Upon completion of this micro-credential, learners will be able to:

  • understand, in depth, the steps involved in building a digital twin
  • undertake value mapping to guide the execution of a digital twin strategy
  • develop a roadmap to realise a digital twin linked to value rather than a specific tool
  • prepare an organisation structure to focus resources to support digital twin strategy execution
  • set up KPI’s to measure the progress of the digital twin implementation journey
  • engage digital twin service and tool providers to address the requirements of the business.
