Micro-credential overview

Computer numerical control (CNC) machining encompasses the manufacturing process where machines cut, drill, grind and shape a variety of materials ranging from metals to plastic, based on computer codes. CNC machining can be faster, more efficient, and safer than manual techniques. This micro-credential prepares learners to operate a CNC machine.

Upon completion of this micro-credential, learners will be able to:

  • demonstrate how to load/unload raw materials and equipment
  • setting measuring equipment to zero
  • perform necessary equipment maintenance
  • supervise machine operations and adjust accordingly
  • inspect the finished product to ensure it meets required specifications.
