About the Aerotropolis
The Western Sydney Aerotropolis is the area surrounding the new Western Sydney International Airport at Badgerys Creek, set to become a thriving economic centre.
Future focused industries such as advanced manufacturing, technology, research, training and education, freight and logistics, agribusiness, and mixed-use development will locate in the Aerotropolis. At its heart will be Australia's newest city— Bradfield City Centre.
Quick facts
- 11,200 hectares of rezoned land, strategically located at the centre of NSW road, port, and air networks.
- $20 billion pipeline of infrastructure investment by the NSW and Commonwealth Government, for delivery of the Airport and supporting critical transport infrastructure.
- $1.9 billion of new funding from the 2024-25 NSW and Commonwealth Government budgets, for upgrades to key arterial roads, enabling rapid transportation of goods and services to and from the Aerotropolis.
- More than $8.7 billion worth of development already in the planning pipeline, generating 80,000 new jobs (during construction and ongoing).
Priority precincts within the Aerotropolis are being developed over time, creating new opportunities for investment by industry. There will be an initial focus on three priority precincts:
Northern Gateway Precinct
The Northern Gateway Precinct will provide important links north into the greater Penrith area via major transport infrastructure.
Aerotropolis Core Precinct (including the Bradfield City Centre)
Bradfield City Centre will be the new metropolitan centre within the Aerotropolis Core Precinct.
Agribusiness Precinct
The Agribusiness Precinct offers key access points to the airport, allowing the development of agribusiness uses.
