Technical drawings are essential to visually communicating ideas in industry and engineering. They provide a blueprint to inform how a product or component is produced and enable post-production quality control. The ability to read technical drawings impacts everyone involved in the design and manufacture of goods and is a fundamental skill in the industry. This micro-credential focuses on building the skills and knowledge required to interpret technical drawings.
Upon completion of this micro-credential, learners will be able to:
- understand the principles of Australian Standard AS1100 for technical drawing
- apply knowledge of AS1100 to interpret the engineering intent of release drawing(s)
- demonstrate proficiency in the use of technical terminology specified in AS1100.
