Introduction to Reverse Engineering
Micro-creential
Reverse engineering is the process of analysing an existing product or system’s design and functionality and recreating it in a digital space to create a similar or improved version of that product or system.
These skills will be valuable for individuals engaged in professions such as mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality assurance. This micro-credential will introduce learners to the principles and techniques of reverse engineering, 3D scanning equipment and software tools.
What you will learn
Upon completion of this micro-credential, learners will be able to:
- demonstrate and apply the principles and techniques of reverse engineering
- identify and apply different equipment and techniques to create digital models
- develop introductory competence in the analysis and interpretation of data from scans
- identify a variety of software tools and how they can be used to manipulate and modify digital models
- apply reverse engineering techniques in fields such as mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to increase efficiency and decrease costs.
